About Platteville Dairy Days

Purpose of Platteville Dairy Days, Inc.

To support and promote the agriculture community of the City of Platteville and surrounding area, provide agriculture education to the public and those interested in agriculture and promote public awareness of our community by organizing the annual Dairy Days Celebration.

Non-Profit Status

 Dairy Days became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1994.

Meetings

We typically meet on the first Wednesday night of each month (except January) at the Platteville Business Incubator Building or Legion Park. Meetings are open to anyone that wishes to join our organization.

Committee Chairmen Responsibilities

1. Committee Chairmen are expected to attend the monthly Dairy Days meetings to give updates on committee work. This is especially important as Committee Chairmen have voting rights.

2. Chairmen will be asked to assist the Board of Directors in creating an annual budget.

3. Chairmen will be asked to assist in soliciting donations and sponsorships through coordination of the Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee.

4. Chairmen should recruit members as needed for their own committee as well as other Dairy Days committees.

5. Chairmen may schedule committee meetings as needed.

Committee Member Responsibilities

Ambassador Committee

• Coordinates the Ambassador competition

• Schedules appearances for the Ambassador (parades, Dairy Breakfasts, etc.)

• Works with the Promotion Committee to schedule social media and radio ads by the Ambassador

Dairy Cattle Show Committee

• Coordinates all aspects of the dairy cattle show

• Works with the Fundraising &  Sponsorship Committee to secure awards and prizes for the show

Goat Show Committee

• Coordinates all aspects of the dairy and meat goat show

• Works with the Fundraising &  Sponsorship Committee to secure awards and prizes for the show

Entertainment Committee

• Schedules and coordinates the entertainment on the Main Stage during DairyDays

• Acts as a liaison with the carnival

• Organizes the Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull

• Acts as a liaison for the Church service

Flea Market Committee

• Coordinates all aspects of the Dairy Days Flea Market

Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee

• Creates and coordinates the sposorship program

• Documents sponsorships and ensures that businesses receive the recognition as outlined inthe sponsorship program

• Actively seeks new sponsors

• Assists the Board of Directors with any other organization fundraising efforts

Junior & Open Exhibits Committee

• Creates and maintains the exhibit information booklet

• Coordinates the entries and judging of exhibits

Parade Committee

• Coordinates all aspects of the Dairy Days Parade

Promotion Committee

• Creates and distributes the poster for the Dairy Days celebreation and any other events hosted by the Dairy Days organization

• Coordinates social media posts

•Works with the Platteville Regional Chamber on maintaining the website

• Coordinates any other advertising as needed for events

Truck & Tractor Pull Committee

• Coordinates all aspects of the Truck and Tractor Pulls

• Acts as a liaison with the Antique Tractor Pullers

Vendor & Grounds Committee

• Coordinates food vendors

• Is responsible for grounds items such as porta potties, snow fence, tents, etc.

• Acts as a lisison with groups on the grounds during Daiiry Days (Car Show, Bean Bag Tournament, etc.)
